The eigth annual Salt Spring Classic was held on a perfect Florida day in West Pasco. There was a mild breeze from the northwest and an incoming tide. The course was modified this year so that kayak racers paddled up the Cotee River to Jasmine Park, then turned around and finished at Gill Dawg Marina. The traditional course is the same length as in previous years; 5-1/2 miles. Even though the course is the same length as before, it may be just slightly slower since the kayaks must make a sharp turn in the river and paddle back downstream to the finish.

A new class was added for SUPs (stand up paddleboards), with a shortened course 3-1/4 miles in length. The SUP course only goes up the Cotee River to Millers Bayou and ends at Gill Dawg Marina. Fun paddlers also use the shortened course this year.

See below the race results for pictures of the race as they are posted.
