Fifteen kayakers participated in this early morning paddle. The turnout was no doubt affected by the presence of rain in the area. In fact, it was pouring down rain just a half hour before the planned launch time at 8:00AM. However, the weather was not a factor during our excursion. Led by Mark Hardies, we paddled up Salt Spring Run to the source spring, and then up the south branch to Cauldron Spring.

After an approximate two mile paddle to the springs, a few ambitious kayakers took an extended paddle past the Energy Marine Center, through a connecting stream to Double Hammock Creek, and through the "chute". Then we returned through open water in the Gulf and back up Salt Spring Run to our launch point.
