Our annual membership breakfast was held at the group camping area near the park shop facility. Eggs, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, and fresh fruit were served with coffee, milk, or orange juice. Somewhere between 80 to 100 people particpated, and there was plenty of good food to eat.

During the meal we were addressed by Salt Springs Alliance president Doug Cassidy. Park manager Christine Dorrier also gave a report to those in attendance about the progress made in the park since it was officially opened at the beginning of the year. Justin Riney of Expedition Florida 500 then told us about his journey to circumnavigate the State of Florida on a stand-up-paddleboard.

After the breakfast we divided into several groups and enjoyed a walking tour of the new parking lot area and soon-to-be kayak/canoe launch area. The tours were led by Park Manager Christine Dorrier, Ranger Karyn and Ranger Jeanne Parks.
